Chhattisgarh is a heavily forested state in central India known for its temples and waterfalls. Near the capital Raipur, the town of Sirpur on the Mahanadi River is home to the red-brick Lakshmana (Laxman) Temple, decorated with carvings from Indian mythology. In the south, the city of Jagdalpur hosts the Sanjay Market on Sundays, a bartering place for local tribes. The huge Chitrakoot Falls lie to the northwest.

Chhattisgarh is one of the 29 states of India, located in the centre-east of the country. It is the tenth-largest state in India, with an area of 135,198.5 sq. km (52,200.4 sq mi). With a population of 25.5 million, Chhattisgarh is the 17th-most populated state in the country. A resource-rich state, it is a source of electricity and steel for the country, accounting for 15% of the total steel produced. Chhattisgarh is one of the fastest-developing states in India.

The state was formed on 1 November 2000 by partitioning 16 Chhattisgarhi-speaking southeastern districts of Madhya Pradesh. The capital city is Raipur. Chhattisgarh borders the states of Madhya Pradesh in the northwest, Maharashtra in the southwest, Telangana in the south (Bhupalpally district), Odisha in the southeast, Jharkhand in the northeast and Uttar Pradesh in the north. Currently the state comprises 27 districts.

Raipur


Banjari Mata Mandir, Bilaspur road, Nagar Ghadi (City Clock Tower), Nandanvan Zoo and garden, Bhilai Road, Urja Park, Mana Road, Vivekananda Sarovar (Budha Talab), Lakshman temple , Rajiv Lochan temple , Dudhadhari Math are the famous temple in Raipur District.

Kanker


The ancient name of Kanker is Sheela and Tamrapatra articles, which include Karkariya, Kakarya, Kankar and Kanker. Some scholars believe that in ancient times, Kunda Kankar Rishi, Shringi Rishi, Kunker Nagar, in the middle of the river, Dudaddadi flows. Located on the south side of the town, the Matriyapahad has been archaeological significance. Sinhaswar and the fort built on the top of the hill show a glimpse of the rich history here.

Durg 


Bhilai is an industrial town 10 kilometers away from the fort. The country's first public steel factory is special due to its advanced technical skills and equipment. Bilaspur

Malhar
It is a village of archaeological importance located in Bilaspur district. Deori Temple, Pataleshwari Temple, Dindeshwari Temple, excavated, is notable here. The country's oldest quadrilateral Vishnu statue can also be seen here.

Talagaon
One of the major archaeological sites of Chhattisgarh, Talagram is situated on the banks of the river Maniyari, 30 km from Bilaspur. In addition to the Devarani-Jethani temple, a unique image of Vishnu has been found here, in which each of the water bodies, Nabhachar and the overflowing beings are depicted.

Khuntaghat
A huge dam on the Kharang river, about 40 kilometers from Bilaspur. A beach is located in between. This is a picnic spot.

This is called Shimla of Chhattisgarh. This is a plateau located in the Sarguja district. It is naturally very rich. A large community of Tibetan refugees has been settled here in the year 1962.

Setganga
Setganga is an ancient religious city of India's Chhattisgarh province. Setganga district headquarter located at Bilaspur-Jabalpur national road 130A, 15 km away from Mungeli.

You must be surprised to know that there is such a temple in India, where Ravana is worshiped as the gatekeeper of Lord Rama. Built in the 10th-11th century, the temple of Shri Ram Janaki is famous for its many merits. Due to the beautiful craft in black stone, along with the statue of Ravana, the temple is discussed in the entire country.

In the Puranas, the mention of the enemy of Lord Rama and Ravana is mentioned. This barrier has eroded in this temple. The motive behind establishing the statue of Ravana as a gatekeeper is that every person should enter the temple only after knowing the good qualities of the wise Ravan and erasing the inner ego.

Mandwa palace
Shiva temple built with stone near Chauragram, half a kilometer away from Bhormadev. This is a dilapidated temple of 14th century. There are sculptures of idols on its outer walls.
Bhomadev Temple, built in the 11th century Chandal style, is of high quality in terms of its excellent craft and grandeur. The ancient temples of Bhormadev are the sites of history, archeology and religious importance. Situated in the middle of the picturesque mountains, the river and the natural beauty of the forests, this temple is a center of impassioned peace. This temple was constructed by Nagvanshi King Ram Chandra. Bhormadev temple is called Khajurahah of Chhattisgarh due to its excellent art craft and grandeur.

Khairagarh
Located in Rajnandgaon district. Asia's only Arts and Music University is located here. Where music and art education are given.

Rudri
Dhamtari is a dam built near Gangrel Banchadh, 12 km away. It is built on the Mahanadi. It was made by Kanker King King Rudradev. This is a religious place of Kabir sect. The Kudraswar Mahadev Yagnan Temple is famous here.

Balladila


Beladila's mines located in Bastar district are world-famous. Here iron is exported to Japan.

Korba District Archaeology


Here, India's largest thermal power plant and aluminum factory is located.. There is a temple of Lord Shiva in the far town of Pali, which was established by King Vikram in the 11th Century. This temple has been shown by the wonderful artwork. There are several deities in the temple which the mind is satisfied to see.
