Hamar Chhattisgarh : Rajiv Lochan Temple, Rajim Gariyabandh
The magnificent temple of Lord Rajiv Lochan is located in Rajim "The Prayag Town" of Chhattisgarh. From capital city Raipur, Rajim is about to 60 KM away. This temple is situated at the confluence of Mahanadi. Kumbh Mela is also held every year in the Magh Month (February). Rajim is believed to be the Prayag place like Allahabad, this city is in the confluence of the Peri river, the Sodhur river and the Mahanadi river. There are many historical Hindu temples here.
Temple's History
The Rajiv Lochan Temple is an ancient to all the temples here. This temple is said to be 8th century on the basis of the Rajiv Lochan temple record of Nal Vanshi Vilasastung. This record describes the construction of a temple of Vishnu by Maharaja Vilasantung.
Religious Persuasion
According to one belief, Lord Vishnu once asked Vishwakarma to build a temple on the earth, where no dead body was burned for up to 5 KM. When Lord Vishwakarma came to the Earth, he could not find any such place. On telling these trouble to Lord Vishnu, he threw his lotus flower on the earth and told Vishwakarma that wherever these flower fell, make the temple there. That flower fell in Rajim of Chhattisgarh, where Lord Vishnu's Rajiv Lokchan Temple is built on the pollen of lotus.
One night, Rajiv Lobhan gave a dream that he should go to Rajim Telin's house and bring the stone which is placed there above the Dhani, bring it to the temple because they exist in that same rock. After that, Rajiv Lochan said, "But do not hurt Rajim Telin because Rajim Telin is my hearty devotee."
Rajiv Lochan appeared in his dream again on that night and told, "You have proud on your money in that's why I taught you a lesson, But I'm happy with your well-being. So what do you have to do now, on the gold you put one third leaves of basil on it. " Raja Jagatpal was slept hungry. Now he was happy in his mind. The next day, he was places one third basil leaf with the gold. By placing basil leaf with the gold. He gave gold equal weight to the rock and established the stone in the temple. After that that temple was by name of Rajim Telin known as Rajiv Lochan Temple.
One day Bhaktin Mata Telin sat on the door of Rajiv Lochan's temple. That meditation turned into meditation and she got salvation. The people of this region celebrate the Rajiv Bhatin Mata Mahotsav in Basant Panchami.
Best Time to go Rajiv Lochan Temple
