Hamar Chhattisgarh : Siya maiya Temple and waterfalls Jhalmala, Balod


Siya Maiya temple and waterfalls is near in Jhalmala in Balod district approx 60 KM away from Bhilai, Durg Chhattisgarh. This place is full of nature, beautiful waterfall and dense forest. This waterfall is about 15 feet high and 35 feet wide. There is a wild life sanctuary Bar Navapara sanctuary in Turturiya village.

Rituals About Temple


This places in Danakarnya area in ancient time. It is believed that Lord Rama and Laxmana were visit here in their Vanvaas period to find Goddess Sita who was kidnapped by Demon King Ravana. Lord Rama was tested by Goddess Parvati in form of Maa Sita to test his loyalty towards his wife. But lord Rama recognized her and greet as mother. She guilt what she did and told about this matter to lord Shiva and apologize. Lord Shiva told her to settle down as incarnation of Devi Sita.

There is another belief that the tiger of goddess came around to protect her at night. This place is also famous as meditation land of Mahrshi Valmiki.

By Road: This place is located in Balod District from main city it is 20 km by Car. There is many buses abd taxis are available.

By Train: Nearest railway station is Balod Railway Station, which is connected by Durg Railway station via Durg-Dalli Rajhara Rail line.

By Flight: Nearest airport is Swami Vivekanand Airport Raipur which is 106 km away approx 2 hrs by Car.
