Hamar Chhattisgarh : The Royal Rajkumar College, raipur


The name of Rajkumar college is also associated with the history of Chhattisgarh. Which is known as Rajkumar College. In Rajkumar's college, not only Chhattisgarh, but the sons of the kings of nearby states also came to study. This college campus itself has Jashpur Hall. Where the first meeting of the Chhattisgarh assembly was held. In this college, the officers from the MLA were included in the meeting.
College transferred from Jabalpur to Raipur in 1894, the first meeting of the Chhattisgarh assembly was held at Rajkumar College, now available for the public.

The facts which show the history of Rajkumar College

1. Apart from Chhattisgarh, Rajkumar College was established with the aim of providing good education to princes of Odissas, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Bihar.

2. Hundreds of acres land was leased to this college. The principals of 14 princely states of Chhattisgarh mainly donated donations in various boarding, halls and other developmental works.

 3. In 1882, this college was established in Jabalpur, but it was shifted to Raipur in 1894.

4. Jashpur Hall was completed by February 3, 1998. In the same situation, the first Chhattisgarh assembly held the first historical meeting of the state assembly. A new page was added with the historicity of Rajkumar College.

5. In the main building of Rajkumar College, the big clock was given by King Jawahar Singh of the Sarangad principality, which has been running for many hundred years. Clock is visible in all four directions.
