Hamar chhattisgarh : Battisa Temple which is stand on 32 pillars


Battisa means thirty-two 32, this temple has 32 columns. The historic Battisa temple of Bansur is 31 km away from Dantewada, headquarter of South Bastar . According to the inscription given here, it was constructed in 1030 A.D. by Nagawanshi king Someshwar Dev for his queen.

History


In the two Shivalaya here, the King and Rani used to worship different Shivas. There are two Shivalinga established in this temple with two sanctum. Legend has it that after seeking three pag land from Raja Bali, the Vaman Avatar of Lord Vishnu has taken him to Pataal.

 After this, the sacrification of King Bali, Banasur, settled the new capital named Banasura in Dandakaranya Vananchal (Old Name of Bastar). Since the entry of Lord Krishna's son Anirudh's Bansura, the fall began here. The 895-year-old temple was rebuilt by archaeological department in the year 2003.



In the 4x8 rows, this temple is hinged on large stones, which are carefully cured. Nand bull is situated outside of sanctum of Shivalaya which is made by grey stone. Inside the sanctum is a very beautiful undiscovered shivalinga.

Shivaling is made of stone and it is hinged on a large mechanical system. Just like the water mill rotates when water fall, just like this Shivalinga revolves. And this is all made of stone. That is, it was being rotated for several hundred years and it is moving.

By Road: 16 kms away from Geedam (80 kms from Jagdalpur) is situated on the path of Bhopalpattanam. About 400 km from Raipur. There is a bus and taxi available here.

By train: Nearest railway station is Jagdalpur railway station. Bus and taxi is available from here.

By Flight: 96 km by car from Jagdalpur Airport.
