Hamar Chhattisgarh: Amritdhara Waterfall Beautiful Waterfall in Koriya


Amrit Dhara Waterfall in Koriya is among the most famous waterfalls in Chhattisgarh. Amrit Dhara Water fall is a natural waterfall which originates from the Hasdo river which is a tributary of the Mahanadi River. The fall is situated at a distance of 17 km from Chirmiri. The waterfall is ideally located on the Manendragarh-Baikunthpur road. The Amrit Dhara Waterfall is falls from a height of 90 feet. The waterfall is about 10-15 feet wide.


The spot where Amrit Dhara Waterfall, there is situated also a very auspicious Shiva temple. Around this spot a very famous fair (mela) is held every year. The fair was started by Ramanuj Pratap Singh Judeo, who was the King of Koriya State, in the year 1936. The fair takes place during the festive occasion of Mahashiv Ratri and many of devotees come to this place during the fair. The area around is also a famous picnic spot.

By Road: 15 km from the town Manendragarh. Road, take a bus or taxi to Raipur, and hire a taxi to the fall.

By Train: To the visit this place, nearest railway station is Manendragarh.

By Air: The nearest airport is Raipur (Swami Vivekananda Airport Raipur, approx 330 km from the place)
